Grace Lee is still no.1 in this blog. I had an August update for the Grace Lee post so I think it helps in the huge traffic influx. Other Magic 89.9 posts are getting popular this month. Two out of three new posts are about Magic 89.9 DJ's. Guru Shivaker is getting some TV exposure - good for him.

No more Michael Jackson posts on the top 10. No more Money Pacquiao. They are still among the top posts though...

I won't be posting a separate blog update this month. But just to let you know, this month has been the highest Adsense income for me.

Food of the Week: Tomatoes

There are few vegetables that better mark the summer months than the sweet juiciness of a vine-ripened tomato. Although tomatoes are now available year-round, the truly wonderful qualities of tomatoes are the best when they are in season from July through September.

Tomatoes have fleshy internal segments filled with slippery seeds surrounded by a watery matrix. They can be red, yellow, orange, green, purple, or brown in color. Although tomatoes are fruits in a botanical sense, they don't have the dessert quality sweetness of other fruits. Instead they have a subtle sweetness that is complemented by a slightly bitter and acidic taste. Cooking tempers the acid and bitter qualities in tomatoes and brings out their warm, rich, sweetness.

'Nobody' by the Wonder Girls

After watching Grace Lee dance on TV (see: Grace Lee Scandal August update), I immediately got hooked into the song and its catchy dance moves. I then found out that it was actually a song that got famous worldwide through the internet. Watch the music video here.

Shivaker on TV

If you don't know who Shivaker is, then you have missed a lot lately...
Just who is Shivaker? If you go to the BNO Multiply Site of you can see this picture below.

But finally, Shivaker has been also spotted on TV. He guested in GMA Channel 7's Cool Center for 2 weeks now, and he also joined Eat Bulaga's Pinoy Henyo along with DJ Tony Toni. Watch the super funny videos here.

He and Tony Toni played Pinoy Henyo Boys Night Out style! Congratulations!





He was previously seen guesting on Cool Center last week giving love advice the way he does it best. Watch him as he talks to a local celebrity caller.


I love the way he gives his words of wisdom to random callers with various love problems. Although sometimes, I feel that the advice kinda sounds eerily familiar.

Food of the Week: Cucumbers

To be "cool as a cucumber" add them to your menus during the warm summer months when they are in season. Although slicing cucumbers are available year round, they are at their best from May through July.

Cucumbers are scientifically known as Cucumis sativus and belong to the same family as watermelon, zucchini, pumpkin, and other types of squash. Varieties of cucumber are grown either to be eaten fresh or to be pickled. Those that are to be eaten fresh are commonly called slicing cucumbers. Cucumbers such as gherkins that are specially cultivated to make pickles are oftentimes much smaller than slicing cucumbers.

Blogging Code of Ethics

Do you blog with integrity?
A recent CNN article also talked about how "mother-bloggers" having their group integrity compromised by the increasing trend of unethical blogging practices.

These are some of the things that have been called out by critics to be unethical. Bear in mind that not everybody is doing these:

• writing a favorable reviews in return for free stuff and free trips
• writing paid posts and sponsored reviews without proper disclosure
• writing irresponsible reviews (raving about a product that is actually bad)

Bloggers need to go back to the basics and write from the heart. Blogs do not have to be popular, witty, highly technical or deep. They do not even have to make money. They just have to be honest.

If bloggers are being paid to write a specific post, I think their readers need to know about it. If bloggers are endorsing something that they have vested interest in, then it has to be disclosed.

Food of the Week: Grapes

The combination of crunchy texture and dry, sweet, tart flavor has made grapes an ever popular between meal snack as well as a refreshing addition to both fruit and vegetable salads. American varieties are available in September and October while European varieties are available year round.

Grapes are small round or oval berries that feature semi-translucent flesh encased by a smooth skin. Some contain edible seeds while others are seedless. Like blueberries, grapes are covered by a protective, whitish bloom. Grapes that are eaten as is or used in a recipe are called table grapes as opposed to wine grapes (used in viniculture) or raisin grapes (used to make dried fruit).

Food of the Week: Olives

Olives are harvested in September but available year round to make a zesty addition to salads, meat and poultry dishes and, of course, pizza.

Olives cannot be eaten right off of the tree; they require special processing to reduce their intrinsic bitterness. These processing methods vary with the olive variety, region where they are cultivated and the desired taste, texture and color. Some olives are picked green and unripe, while others are allowed to fully ripen on the tree to a black color. Yet, not all of the black olives available begin with a black color. Some processing methods expose unripe greens olives to the air, and the subsequent oxidation turns them a dark color. In addition to the original color of the olive, the color is affected by fermentation and/or curing in oil, water, brine or salt.
