Blog Updates for January

I have been somewhat busy in these past few days updating several things for my blog. These are my blog updates for January:

1. I started to include some Amazon widgets in case readers would like to use them for shopping online.

2. I have embedded the comment section for my posts. This is one of the most valuable tweaks I would ever do for my blog (see my previous tweaks). This tweak makes it easier for the readers to place a comment.

To Embedded my comment form, I looked for this line in my template HTML:

<b:include data='post' name='comments'/>

Then I added this line just below:
<b:include data='post' name='comment-form'/>

3. I have installed FEEDJIT Live Traffic Feed monitor in my blog to help me check where my visitors come from and where they land in my blog. These information lets me prioritize which posts I need to optimize and which posts I need to improve. Get FEEDJIT here.

4. I have been reading and commenting on several blogs lately. Their topics range widely but most of the blogs read are also about blogging and making some money online.

5. I have been doing even more reading about other blogs. If it's at all possible, blogging actually increased my online addiction.

It has been almost 2 months since I started this blogging adventure. I have been seeing some "encouraging" results from my traffic analysis and Adsense reports (and I already received my Adsense PIN). It makes me think that blogging might actually work for me :)

Important Privacy Notice:
Starting May, Google will have access to your internet usage via a cookie. This cookie will help Google provide the most appropriate ads for my blog, and any other website using Google Adsense, basing on your internet history. For example, if you frequent websites about Blogging, Health and Fitness, or Personal Finance, Google will show health or finance related ads in my blog, and any other website using Google Adsense. The reasoning is that you will be more interested in these ads and will help you find what you are possibly looking for.

For more information about these changes and how it affects our privacy, go to Google Privacy Center. Also, if you think these changes are not acceptable for you, there is a blue "opt out" button you can click. If you opt out, you will still see Google ads in my blog, but they will be based on the content of my posts, not on your personal internet history.

Please take time to read more. Whatever you do, make sure you understand the effects to your privacy.
