Christmas Childhood Memories
When I was still very young, I would look forward to attending kiddie parties and family reunions and going every year to Cubao to watch the COD show and Disney's Holiday on Ice.
Our neighborhood would organize a party and we would present a dance number (Ice, Ice, Baby...). My little brother would sing solo the Twelve Days of Christmas in front of the appreciating crowd. My family would exchange gifts a la Secret Santa and we would stay up to midnight to attend mass and eat noche buena.
In the later years, we would still attend family reunions with close relatives. Watching COD was replaced by going to Star City and the several other similar theme parks with rides and tiangge stores. We would call (or text) all our friends with christmas and new year greetings. We would visit my brother's and sisters' ninongs and ninangs to greet them and ask for pamasko.
Now that we have all grown up, the family reunions are still there. Going to Star City was replaced by going to the malls. We would still call and text our friends with the chistmas and new year greetings. We would also greet our ninongs and ninangs through email and webcam chat.
How about you? What can you recall from your childhood memories of the season?
